Public Library Services

Shasta County Library provides free public library services to people of all ages of varying interests and concerns. This is presently accomplished through Headquarters Library in Redding and branches in Anderson and Burney. Current library services are limited to book loans, Internet access, wordprocessing workstations, reference, typewriters for public use, and children's story hours conducted by volunteers. Special collections include local history, genealogy, books on audio tape, telephone books and large print books.

Reference

We are happy to answer questions in the Library and over the telephone. If we can't provide the answer, we will ask a larger library to research the question.

Internet Access

Reach global information resources such as governmental, scientific, and business databases from library computers.

Reserves

If the item you want is checked out, we will hold it for you when it is returned.

Interlibrary Loan

The Shasta County Library is a member of an international network of libraries which have made their collections available on-line. Computer searching can locate an item in any of these libraries, and in most cases, we can borrow the item for you. The Shasta County Library does not charge a fee for this service, except in cases where a lending library charges a fee for their service.
