SCEA represents members at the state AND local level. Locally SCEA represents members in negotiations for wages, benefits, hours, and working conditions. It also represents members in the handling of employee-employer related problems; grievance resolution; and contract administration. Representation at the state level is accomplished through our affiliation with the California Independent Public Employees Legislative Council (CIPELC).

SCEA is governed by a Board of Directors elected from and by the membership. The Board of Directors sets policy for the organization and employs three full time staff to carry out the policy. The staff consists of an Executive Director, Office Manager/Field Representative, and an Administrative Assistant.
